Bed and Breakfast

Nestled in the old village schoolhouse in the heart of picturesque Coxwold, North Yorkshire, our 400-year-old cottage offers a warm welcome in a setting full of charm and character. Just 20 miles from York and 8 miles from Thirsk, we’re a peaceful base for exploring the Yorkshire countryside.

Our cosy B&B has three beautiful guest rooms—two doubles and one twin. Due to the age of the building, en-suite bathrooms weren’t possible, but guests enjoy private bathrooms with fluffy robes. To ensure comfort, we only let two rooms at a time unless a group books all three and is happy to share facilities. Rooms include Egyptian cotton bedding, towels, toiletries, TV, WiFi, and in-room tea and coffee. A delicious continental breakfast features fresh fruit, granola, croissants, ham, cheese, yogurt, and more.

Our family-friendly tearoom is open Thursday to Sunday, 10:00–16:00 (plus bank holiday Mondays). Enjoy teas, coffees, cakes, light lunches—and if you're lucky, one of our Thai Supper Evenings featuring authentic dishes prepared by Jimmy, who ran a cooking school in Bangkok for 20 years. Relax in our garden among butterflies and buddleia or browse our onsite interior and gift shop, with beautiful homewares, vintage finds, and hand-crafted Thai silk. Rates start at £100 per room per night (based on two people sharing). Children are welcome. Free WiFi. Sorry, no pets.
